Aarde
by Sebastian Herkner
German designer Sebastian Herkner developed Aarde after travelling through South Africa, struck by the variety of its landscape, people and culture. Aarde is Afrikaans for earth.
Overlapping planes of stone build up the form, catching light and shadow the way layered rock does, and the palette of earthy browns, reds and sandstone follows the same reference. Six pieces cover tall, square and trough formats, including slim and compact sizes for tighter floor plates.
