Circular Economy Services

Furniture is usually the last thing considered in a workplace move and the first thing skipped at the end of a lease. Our circular services deal with what already exists on the floor plate, so a refurbishment does not start with a skip bin.

What we offer

Take-back

Removal of existing furniture at the point of a refurbishment, relocation or lease expiry. Items are assessed for reuse, refurbishment or material recovery rather than defaulting to disposal.

Refurbishment

Reupholstery, recomponenting and refinishing of existing assets so serviceable frames stay in use. Typically applied to task seating, workstation frames and storage.

Lease-back

Furniture supplied under a lease rather than a capital purchase, with end of term collection built into the arrangement. See lease-back and asset management.

Resale through clearance

Quality pieces recovered from a take-back are checked and offered again in our clearance range, alongside discontinued lines and ex display stock. Pieces suited to households go to families in need through our reuse partner Relove.

Waste to resource

Where an item cannot be reused, it is separated into material streams for recovery. Outcomes are reported so they can be carried into ESG, Green Star or Reconciliation Action Plan reporting.

Lifecycle management

An asset register of what was supplied, where it sits and what condition it is in, maintained across the life of the tenancy so the next decision is made on data rather than a walk-through.

How it runs on a project

  1. Site assessment. We inspect and count what is on the floor and record make, condition and quantity.
  2. Recommendation. Each line is assigned a pathway: reuse in place, refurbish, redeploy to another site, donate, or material recovery.
  3. Program. Removal is sequenced against the construction program, with dock and lift bookings, out of hours access and protection of finished surfaces as required.
  4. Execution. Removal, transport and processing, with packaging removed from site.
  5. Reporting. A statement of what left site and where it went.

What this is worth commercially

  • Diverted volume that can be reported against a sustainability target
  • Reduced waste and disposal cost at the end of a lease
  • Indigenous business spend recorded against an IPP or supplier diversity target
  • An asset position that is documented rather than estimated
Scoping a circular program Scope, pricing and reporting format are set per project. To scope one, we need the site address, approximate item counts, the program dates and whether the work is in a live or vacated tenancy. Contact sales@binoweegroup.com.au or call 02 9188 5180.
